Terms of Use
These terms are short. Please read them, and Apple’s Standard EULA they build on, before using Chalkday.
The agreement
By downloading or using Chalkday, you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). The Standard EULA is part of these terms: it governs your licence to use the app, and its sections on warranties and liability apply to Chalkday. Chalkday is the “Application Provider” it refers to. These terms add to the Standard EULA; they don’t replace it.
Our Privacy Policy explains what data Chalkday collects and how you can export or delete it.
Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, keep access to the email address or Apple ID you sign in with, because that’s how you get back in. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
You must be at least 13 to use Chalkday. If you’re under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to create an account.
Chalkday Plus
The free plan includes up to three active habits and one accountability partner. Chalkday Plus is a subscription that removes those limits and adds Patterns, your weekly insights.
- Plans and prices. Chalkday Plus is billed yearly or monthly. The price is shown in the App Store, in your currency, before you buy, and can differ between countries. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the price then shown, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial. Where offered, the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, once per Apple ID; Apple decides who can have it, and the app offers it only when the App Store says you can. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription. The monthly plan has no free trial. If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your iPhone’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Chalkday Plus, then Cancel Subscription. Or open your Apple subscriptions. Chalkday Plus then stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app or your Chalkday account doesn’t cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.
- If Chalkday Plus ends, you keep everything. Habits beyond your first three are paused: you can still see them and their history, and they unlock again from the day Plus returns.
Friends and circles
Shared streaks, circles, cheers and nudges are there for encouragement. When you use them, don’t:
- harass, bully, threaten or pester anyone;
- use a name, habit name or circle name that’s hateful, sexual, violent or misleading, or that pretends to be someone else;
- send invites as spam;
- try to reach accounts or data that aren’t yours, or disrupt Chalkday or the people using it; or
- use Chalkday for anything illegal.
You’re always in control of who you share with. In the Friends tab, use the more button next to a friend, or press and hold them, to remove them, block them or report them; in a circle, tap the person. Blocking ends your friendship and stops invites, cheers and nudges both ways. Reporting sends us an email with who they are and what happened. We look into reports, and we may remove content, or suspend or delete accounts, that break these terms.
Your content
Your habits, notes and history are yours. You let us store them, and show them to the people you choose to share them with, only so that Chalkday works for you. That permission ends when you delete them or your account.
Not medical advice
Chalkday helps you keep habits. It isn’t medical, health or professional advice. Talk to a professional before making big changes to your exercise, diet or sleep.
Changes
Chalkday will grow and change, and we may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top, and if a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with a change, you can stop using Chalkday and delete your account at any time.
Ending
You can stop using Chalkday whenever you like, and delete your account from You > Settings > Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.
Your rights under the law
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
